Twitter is dying. It seems like that’s a fact nowadays. Elon Musk has successfully driven it into the ground (at least in the fact that now it seems only to exist as a hollow husk of its former self).
I recently made the switch over to Bluesky (you can find me here!) but in doing so, it reminded me that I’ve got my own website here. It’s one that’s entirely mine, one that I can use however I want to. Plus, it’s not like anyone reads my stuff over there or on here, so anyone who wants to call Bluesky an “Echo Chamber” can also call this blog an echo chamber, an echo chamber of one!
That aside, I’ve been as busy as usual. The past year has been lots of travel (which I’ve posted about on my Instagram account), some writing, fledging out Silly Goose Press, and working to stay alive. Thanksgiving is coming up and with that is more travel, visiting family, and attempting to get some extra writing in while I’ve got the time off.
But, in the essence of migrating from one social site to another, I figured I would update here as well. The web being controlled by large corporations isn’t all that great, but having a little website that can be a domain of one is something I regularly forget I still have (and pay for). I’ll aim to post more here in the new year. In the meantime, here are some recent fun things.
Fun Stuff:
Cinenerdle2.app: a website devoted entirely to movie trivia, a fun head-to-head movie linking game, and lots more. Check it out!
Frank Sinatra Has a Cold: a classic Esquire profile of Frank Sinatra. Somehow I missed reading this or hearing about it in any way but it’s a tome of celebrity profiling and has influenced the form to this day. Also, it’s a pretty fun read.
The Penguin on HBO: It’s really good. Just as good as everyone else has said. Colin Farrel gives such an incredibly strong performance in this and though the statement is often overused, he is genuinely unrecognizable in it. It’s really good TV and I’m not even a huge TV person!
So check those things out if you can. They’re all pretty good things if I do say so myself.
